Morning all,

Does anyone have a link or a copy of an 'unbranded', generic BS 5839 smoke detector cert?

Had a quick browse on the net and cant seem to find one suitable.

Much obliged :)

Elecsa.co.uk have many blank certs in their downloads section that you save a a pdf for printing (on right hand side of their home page)

I don't believe there is one. Most people I have spoken to or seen on this forum have made up their own.

The essential parts are:

1) To certify that the installation conforms with the requirements for a xxxx type installation (--- would be somting like an LD2)

2) The address of the installation

3) to itemise the detectors that have been installed (eg 2 smoke detectors to hall and landing, heat detector to kitchen)

4) to certify the installation meets the requirements of BS...

5) to specify who installed it

6) your signature and position in the installation company.

7) Date of installation

The really essential part is that it has a pretty border. If it has then it will be accepted by anybody as the genuine article!
