Evening all. I've acquired a large quantity of BS951 earth clamps (over 200!). They are stamped BS951:1999. I'm sure the last ones I had were to a later version of BS951. Will they still be OK to use? They do have the safety notice tag with them.

They are not coloured, I know most are now to indicate the conditions they are suitable for. Is this a manufacturer thing, or part of the standard?

:)

Might be that I'm talking out of my a-hole anyway, just looked at a recent clamp from my toolbox and that is also dated 1999!

I must admit I only seem to have had coloured ones lately, from various makers, however the ones I have are for dry areas only, it says so on the boxes! :)

i gave my lady a pair for earrings.

If water or gas is bonded with elastic bands it's still done better than 90% of most houses.

I often wonder if people even taught to do it 'back int day'? A week ago I went to do a fuse box change and the gas meter& stopcock were both in the same cupboard, maybe a meter away, no bonding

Use them, I would but the legrand twist on clamps are one of the best products ever
