Currently working on a renovation that has plans for four ensuites. Client has decided now to keep one as a dressing room instead and would like some power provided. There will be pipework presented for future change of use but will be boxed in etc.

What do you think building control will say. I will give them a call in the morning but just wondered on your thoughts

so first let customer liase with BC about the change of use. then, once accepted, you can then treat room as a different location.

OK thanks so the change of use does need formalising. Is it not the inclusion of Bath shower etc that makes the location a special location more than the plans themselves

It’s either a special location or not. Would say it’s up to you what future proofing you do for ease of changing to a compliant ensuite is up to you. My living room could be a swimming pool in the future but for the time being I’ll stick to standard sockets a few inches from where the water is likely to be.
