Discuss Bulkhead lights on a ceiling (non-electrian) in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I've got a few of these cheap bulkhead lights that I'd like to wire in my garage to give a bit of extra light:

Byron 60W ES Oval Bulkhead Light Fitting - Black - QVS Electrical Supplies | Electrical Wholesaler

I was planning to screw them to the flat rafters board that sit over the joists, possibly with some little pieces of MDF as the rafters aren't quite wide enough.

Am I OK to use this kind of light fitting indoors?

Also is it OK to screw a light fitting to the underside of a wooden rafter / MDF? Just wondering if there are any fire regulations that need to be considered?

Many thanks!
