Hi, neighbour has asked if I would run new cable from existing cooker control unit to new oven/grill. The easiest way to run cable without disruption would be under existing kitchen cupboards. Cable would be 2.5mm or 4mm depending on oven. Is it ok to run this, this way ? and would it be better contained in plastic trunking. I realise mcb would need downsized. Thanks

got any pics for that ,what size is the current feed to the cooker control unit ,you can run it under the base units and come up behind it ,is the oven going in a housing unit or free standing.

Just flinging it in under the cupboards is likely to end up with the customer posting it on here asking if it's ok. :D

Yes you can install the cable below the kitchen units and it should be fixed. If the cable is less than 50mm from the skin/plinth of the unit it will require additional rcd protection.

Thanks westward, nice to get a bit of practical help.
I have to edit your last post. The forums have varying members and banter is part of life on here and whilst some posts on here were not helpful it is best to report them as opposed to responding back.
