Hi, im 1st fixing a kitchen and the customer wants some switched fuse spurs in kitchen cupboards instead of above the worktop. Do the cables zones still count even if the cables are brought through into the kitchen cupboards?

If the FCU's are in the cupboards, and not on show (probably hidden by baked beans) some numpty is going to drill a hole through the cable drop.

FCU's in kitchens need to be accessible and to me that means visible. No ifs, not buts!

You'll find that on this forum, it's fine to bury Cooker control units, FCU's, socket outlets, within kitchen cabinets, whether they be accessible or not!!

Far more important to take notice of what the customer wants, than any safety concerns i'm afraid, when it comes to kitchen installations....
