Just ordered a new sony HD camcorder, was £259 now £159 in a sale, Now I am aware that isn't much money for a good camcorder, but I am wondering if anyone else has one around that price which they are either happy or disappointed with? It is 10 mega pixel for the still shots by the way and takes the usual sd cards for the chosen images.

We bought a Sony last summer and it's great. Not sure the exact spec, but good all round.

i've also bought some software to allow me to edit, join and compile seperate clips into single files so they are easier to view.

Update:

We've got a Sony CX240E - perfect for what we need.

The software is Sony Creative ... an entry version that does a lot for not much money

Sony has always been " de bullocks" so to speak. My nan had one of the first triniton portable TVs about 30-40 years ago and it was amazing. It's still working fine in Mablethorpe and she's in her 90s.
