Hi,

Can anyone confirm who is responsible for replacing the meter back board. Have situation, where BG removed the meter (arrears), from a backboard riddled with woodworm/rot, which then disintegrated, wth the cutout no longer secured to the board. BG attend to replace the meter but cant fit as there is no backboard, and the meter box is steel. I cannot replace the board myself, as due to the incoming/cutout, there is not enough space to get a board behind, so to me it looks like a job for WPD. Anyone had any similar issues?

It's down to the DNO I think.

As far as I'm concerned the meter and cutout are nothing to do with anyone other than the supplier.

I seems to recall, the cutout was DNO, tails to meter and meter was the supplier, and tails from the meter was customer. - but where the backboard comes in, Im not sure!

The guy who has to fit it is the mug the other guys persuade that it's his job.
We had suppliers tell a customer that their electrician was responsible for fitting a back board before they turned up. The supplier ended up fitting it.
