i wonder if anyone on this forum can help me. my daughter in law has recently moved into a 1930s house - she has asked me to fit some new light fittings, something i have done many times in my own houses and others over the years. on having a quick look into her ceiling roses i expected to see the usual cable from previous light, cable to next light (except for the last one in the line) and cable from the switch. however all that is connected to each rose is 1 cable with a red wire to the live side of the lamp and a black wire to the neutral side of the lamp. this cable must come from the switch as the light switches on and off. so where does the live feed to the switch come from any thoughts welcome
