Hello all,
Just wondering what is involved in changing an existing 2 gang socket to a 4 gang outlet?

Is it a case of using the existing wiring from the 2 gang.

Thanks

why not just add another 2 gang alongside? and yes, just spur off existing as long as it's currently on a ring.

as long as you only spur off 1 socket (single or double) it complies. more than 1 socket spurred off should be fused down @ 13A.

Wiring Rules in the south of Ireland don't permit unfused spurs. That said, rings aren't terribly common there. More likely to be a 20A radial.

Thanks everyone for replies. In the end I added a double gang to the circuit and from this I added a spur with 13amp fuse switch . There are two double gang sockets running on this spur. Sobto recap I added three double gangs. Thanks
