Hey Guys
Just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about how to change over my irish qualifications to uk equivelent. I just completed 7 phases of the standards based electrical apprenteship.
It is an Advanced Certificate Craft - electrical , which holds a level 6 FETAC accreditation.
I have tried asking in ireland but they arent much help.
Is it the same qualification here?
Anyone have any ideas who I could call to sort this out?
Thanks

Well I've done city and guilds 2330 which is a GNVQ level 2 and 3 certs also in this course you do a technical certificate and also do your AM2 course but that was a full apprenticeship but as for the FETAC I've never heard of so i wouldn't know what equivalence that has to the requirments over here.....

I have been there done that.
Basically fetac is dog-poo, I had to do the city and guilds 236 part 2, AM2 16th edition and 2391, then I got my electricians certificate.

But in order to get my approved card they want me to redo the 2391 and do the 17th edition.

Hi there, was jus wondering is the Irish standard of Electrician unrecognised in England? If the Fetac is unrecognised in England then why is it recognised everywhere else in Europe?
