Thought I'd post this up here to show that there are obviously many companies that still believe in the UK solar market. The growth of new PV installers isn't as fast as the end of last year but it's still growing at a fair old rate.

I'm not surprised. You only have to glance at an industry magazine and people are falling over themselves to promote PV courses. The sad fact is that most of these firms will probably fail to win any job against an established firm - without lying about their experience.

It will be interesting to see how this changes in coming months, as many new companies became accredited around this time last year. I am sure there are many who will not seek to renew their accreditation, (which I assume will remove those companies from the register).

There also may have been a "lag" period as it takes several weeks to attain accreditation. Some companies may have been committed to the process before the recent quiet spell for domestic installations.

Have you seen the latest from NIC - free solar taster sessions of 3hrs going through the basics. I'm assuming it's to generate business for their trainers - more madness. I wish someone had offered me free training instead of paying the £000's we paid for crap training!
