Got called out to look at 12V 20W plug and play garden lights with MR16 lamps that are working at varying levels of brightness. Before i start taking everything apart anyone got any ideas on what would effect the lumin output of different lamps on the circuit or is it likely that its just down to a cheap set performing at different levels?

at a guess, poor connections to the fittings. either the pins on the lamps corroded, or, some are spiked onto the highway cable just by spiking through the insulation. these give terrible connections.

corrosion is always a huge problem when you get 12V and damp combined together. might think you've found a CuSO4 mine.
