Chipboard floor tool

Hi all,

Anyone used one of the chipboard floor tools for cutting access points into flooring??

What are they like?

Never seen one.

Just use a circ saw set at correct depth although sometimes it does make a mess of things lol

Used it now for about 10 years and replaced the cutter a couple of times

You can get cutters and rings for thicker boards as well

I use a holesaw, just make sure you have a few bits of 2 x 1 in the van to screw the plug back in with.

they are very usefull and tidy just drill hole do the work then put a purpose made plug in the hole very easy.

I use the cavity master one haven't had any problems thus far , when I bought it came with a starrett hole saw they may have changed this now.

yip ive got the

never had a problem and yes it is a bit expensive for the plugs but it give a pro finish

Right heres a silly question: How do you put he cut-out circle bit back into the floorboard when you're finished?

If your using a holesaw two stips os of 2x1 scewed to the under side of floor to support cut out or if your using the purpose made jobbies they form a lip as you cut it out and when your finished just pop it back
