the driver on my saxby decking lights has failed. It's not repairable so I need a replacement.

The Vega one (picture below) is specifically for these lights and is £22 + delivery. I think that is too much and so I found a 12v 1.25A transformer at home. Cut the connector of the one and mashed up a temp supply. All the lights work however there is a noticeable flicker. I think this is due to the fact it is not a constant voltage transformer.

would this transformer be ok as a replacement?
