it's your own personal situation that will determine the qualification's relevance. only you can decide if you need it, or not.

if you're looking to get a jib tech' card, then it'll probably come in handy. but you have to be 'approved' graded for about 5 years (as well as having all kinds of managerial experience) before you can be graded as a technician.

if you're looking to get off the tools and into a design environment, then i'm not sure how much use it'll be. most of the design jobs you see advertised are asking for degrees/HND's.
