Just finished an EICR on an ex assisted housing flat, in a block of 4, since converted into normal flats.

Generally the condition isn't horrendous, a couple of damaged accessories(C1) but two odd ones.

1, The CU is in the meter cupboard, outside. Now it wasn't in too nad shape to be honest but there were some areas of light corrosion so I gave this a C3 and retest interval of two years. My reasoning being, it aint going to get better without attention and as things age the rate of damage will accelerate.

2, A shower circuit leaves the CU in 6mm brown and blue T&E and arrives in the shower in 10mm black and red T&E?

Ah the switch I hear you cry......

well the switch has 6mm black and red feed and load....answers on a postcard please.....

There are faults on this circuit quelle suprise.

There will be a joint between switch and shower where a section has been added to either move shower position or replace a section of heat damaged cable. Head in the loft space above bathroom would have revealed the joint. I'm gonna guess 30A choc block with a bit of tape round.

Is the current shower correctly co-ordinated with the ocpd and 6mm cable with the installed reference method ? I would also guess a larger shower could have been added from original at some point.

OCPD, cable and shower all tally, there will be JBs a aplenty no doubt without the boxes.

FI on cert.
