Hi all,

Just a bit of reassurance please my friends house is a right state, pre split load board let alone 17th addition. birds nest of cables and no bonding to the gas and stop tap.

Ive explained that he is looking at a nice few quid even at mates rates.
he's got no money and needs to wait for a few months.
No probs i said but we need to run 10mm to the gas and stop tap straight away at least.

am i right in saying i can just do this on a minor works with an advisory for the other works and not be committed to upgrade the rest once i have started

If a board complies with the 16th Edition Regulations i.e. safe there is no requirement to upgrade it, however a code 4 recommendation would be placed on a PIR.

Why not PIR the Installation, upgrade the Earthing as a must (as a code 1) with any other redemials listed on a PIR. Do all Code 1s immediately?

Cheers warren totally agree, didnt want to to much work till he has a bit of money. would just put my mind at rest doing the bonding even if he couldnt pay me and addressing everything else at a later date
