Just wanted to check something with the great and the good on here, I'm just about to put in a aeg induction hob in my kitchen, the two diagrams show one 400v diagram with the two lives going to connection points 1 and 2, the 230v diagram (relevant to me) shows the live going to connection point 2 but with a bridge/loop also connected to connection point 1 from connection point 2 this makes sense but I wanted to check on here. For info I am using 6mm cable on its own 32amp mcb hob is 4.7 kW.
Thanks for any replies

That's correct regarding the link, I wouldn't use T&E cable though, better to use 3 core H07 flex for the final connection, in your case 2.5mm2 would be fine.

The regulations allow for non flexible cables to be connected to a oven /hob if there is no movement or vibration likely to occur

So with a hob I can see this but a cooker that needs to be pulled out for cleaning?

ours has been on 6mm T/E for 20 years. it's been pulled out twice in total. once to find a fault (blown element) and once again to replace said element. the 6mm cable shows serious adhesion of cobwebs but is otherwise fine.

And of course there's the take heed of manufacturers instructions thing, I've probably connected 100 cookers with good old 6mm T&E over the years but these days the right flex just seems more appropriate and professional. And a built in oven will get a bit warmer than 70 degrees too. :)

only on the inside.
