Hi,

Wondering if anybody might have some advice for a little something I want to do.

I want to install footwell lights in car by way of 2 separate led strips, the strips are 5050 LED Strip Light 12V Car Caravan White Blue Red Green Warm White 10 30 cm | eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5050-LED-Strip-Light-12V-Car-Caravan-White-Blue-Red-Green-Warm-White-10-30-cm/262453353235?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=561256772545&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 . How can I connect these two strips to one run of 2 core up to the dome light? Could I double wire them them into a terminal block and then run a single 2 core from that? Any help appreciated.

Yes you can. Although I would be tempted to solder and heat shrink them in a car. Make sure you take the relevant safety precautions first like disconnect battery. Personally I would run a 2 core to one side then over to the other side. You may even find you can pick up 12v for the lights from the door switch (less wiring).

I've got some small enclosure boxes, magic gel and miniature grommets which I would use to seal and secure the terminal block in place, but I'm good with using solder and heat shrink too. Thanks.

you can't wire to the switch. if you did, they'd be on when door is closed and off when open. i did mine in alarm cable (2 cores doubled for each + and -). soldered to strips and connected into dome light.
