Need some of your knowledge and expertise please. I am putting a standard ceiling light into conservatory and have in the past been told of a methos of running power to the light via the switch. ie. I am putting in a drop switch on the inside of the house by the conservatory door. Any advice would be great. Many thanks

Get it done by a qualified electrician who will do a safe job and give you test certs.

Having looked at both yours and asqs342 posts, I think you owe asqs342 an apology.

asqs342, As to the switch take the neutral to the switch and then loop to the fitting.

Run twin and earth to the switch, break the line conductor through the switch and then take twin and earth to the light fitting from the switch. You are using the switch as a junction box for the neutral and earth.

But Tony beat me to it!
