Testing a lighting circuit with a long lead, all readings R1 R2 Rn around 0.6 to.08 ohms. Adding R1 + R2 = more than 1 ohm. Is this acceptable for recording as the result or should it be less than 1 ohm. TT system.
Thanks for any advice

Nothing wrong with the reading being in excess of 1ohm at all as long as it tallies up with the theoretical calculated length.

As a rough guide you could check your results against the published resistance values for various cable sizes in the OSG.

Bear in mind they wont be identical due to a number of factors but it should give you a rough idea.

Thanks for the quick reply. Had already checked cable length against OSG table ohms/m everything was fine so thanks. Only a novice so needed reasurance. Thanks again.
