I am in the process of buying a new
Bosch Serie 4 HBS534BS0B.
  • Total connected load electric: 2.99 KW. AO who I am buying it from state that it can be connected to a 13A socket other seller are saying it is 13 Amp (Requires hardwiring to a fused spur).
There is a 13A socket already there that the old cooker was connected to. Before I engage an electrician would it be OK to plug it into the 13A socket?

Thanks

Brian

I am fairly sure that when we had our new kitchen they used the old cooker connection to use with the new built in cooker. The cooker has its own supply from the consumer unit.

OK, turn off the breaker in the consumer unit that is marked "cooker" and see if that socket switches off. If it does then your are good to go.

Unfortunately it didn't. It only switched the Induction Hob off. I suppose it would be pointless to have one of these instead of the double sockets that's there at the moment.

after turning the breaker back on.... :):)

Find the manufacturer's installation instructions and see what they say. They aren't necessarily to be followed to the letter, but it may give useful advice.
