Hi Folks,

Just a quickie, that you may know instantly. Are split load 16th edition 5+5 Starbreaker boards changeable to 4+6. Need an extra way on the RCD side if possible and not too familiar with these boards. They are the plug-in type breakers.

Had a look on electrium but no joy thus far.

Thank you.

I think you can and would need to buy replacement bus bars, why not fit an Rcbo?

Thanks Des,

Wasn't aware you could buy these busbars and never thought to look - doh! An RCBO may be tricky as its spaghetti junction in the board. Thought I could maybe easily shunt things over a bit to allow 4+6.

May go for another option of a sub board as plenty of give on the tails.

Thanks again.

If you are going down this route and have a spare way on the main switch side you could feed the sub board off an mcb on the main switch side. Saves putting in a Henley block etc.

Cheers Lee,

DB is chocker but a good shout as I could make room on the non RCD side. Don't like having to many options, never know which one to take! Looking at how messy the inside of the DB is, I think I may stay away from it completely and go via a sub board. This also gives a spare way for the future. That's gonna be my selling spiel to the owner tomorrow!
