Has anyone heard of this:

C: Continuity of protective conductors, including main & supplementary bonding
R: Ring final circuit conductors continuity
I: Insulation Resistance
S: SELV, PELV or by electrical protection
P: Polarity
E: Earth electrode resistance
I: Impedence, (Zs & Ze) & Pfc
R: RCDs & Functional testing

As a form for remembering the sequence of tests, what do you think. (Pfc is put with Zs/Ze only in order to remember the sequence). Does it make sense & is it appropriate?

Thanks for letting me know Lenny. I haven't seen CRIPPLER in GN3 (Green cover).

With CRISPEIR, this follows the sequence as set out in GN3: 2.7.4: Sequence of tests.

Would appreciate full details of CRIPPLER, & your opinion of CRISPEIR (bearing in mind it is for remembering the sequence of tests).

I only know the CRIPPLER

C ontinuity of cpc and bonding conductors
R ing cont'
I .R test
P olarity DEAD test
P olarity LIVE test
L oop impedance test, Ze and Zs
E arth fault and PSC fault current
R cd and other functinal tests

I think i'll stick with "CRIPPLER" until some young dude from IET'S HR department decides it breaches their discrimination policy....then again,i still use words like wireless, urchin and tyro.

Although CRIPPLER doesn't seem to ring true the the sequence as it is given - the sequence includes many tests that are not in your everyday I&T.

All the assessments with C&G including the questions in the 2391's are satisfied if CRIPPLER is used.

I would have thought protection by SELV, PELV or by electrical separation would have been part & parcel of the tests that are integral to testing, especially as they apply to special locations such as Baths/showers, swimming pools, saunas, & irrespective of the voltage, Ref Chap 41.
