Hello all. I have a few months work lined up as a LABORER. I'm told i need to get a CSCS card, i'm aware of them but haven't needed one yet. I am really struggling with which one i need, as i have various qualifications that may be speed up the process of getting one (instead of the H&S courses you need to take) as i need it urgently.
I have been an electrician in the past you see. I also have a GNVQ in engineering i acquired in school... Does that count as an NVQ? An NVQ is one of the requirements for one of the cards.

Here are my qualifications that may help me:

SCHOOL:
Intermediate GNVQ Engineer (PASS)

COLLEGE:
• Level 3 Certificate in Electro-technical Technology Installation (Buildings and Structures)
• City & Guilds (2391) Inspection, Testing and Certification of Installations Stage 3 (PASS)
• City & Guilds Principles of Electro-technology (PASS)
• City & Guilds Application of Health & Safety and Electrical principles (2330) (PASS)
• Level 3 Certificate in The Requirements For Electrical Installation (BS7671)
• City & Guilds (2381) 16th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (PASS)

I am so lost with what card i'm entitled too, i know it doesn't matter which one i get in terms of doing labor work, but time is a factor here. Any help would be really appreciated! Thank you.

All of those qualifications you've listed are irrelevant for a CSCS card. You need to sit the CSCS H&S test.
The trade specific card for electricians is the ECS card, which involves sitting a different test with electrical questions, but they don't do the tests as regularly so you'll probably have to wait longer.

adam he is a labourer not an electrician so they will get him to do a normal cscs test

Google is your friend on this. Look for cscs tests in (your area) you'll find them, if our dog could read and write I could get him through the test. It really is that simple.
I had to sit one once and it was an insult to even a dolt's intelligence. 40 questions in an hour. It took me longer to do the sign in process than it took to sit the test.
Some places will let you on site as long as you can prove you've got one booked.

I believe he is an 'Adult Improver', but will need employer verification of his enrolment on the NVQ level 3 for Electrical Installation.

As above, OP, you will need to book the (spectacularly easy ECS test) which consists of 30 multiple choice questions then once passed you will give this to the JIB along with copies of your qualifications and employer endorsement to get your grading card.

Yes, the qualifications listed are electrical qualifications, which are irrelevant for a CSCS card. He will need to sit the CSCS H&S test.
