Hi, does anyone have any experience of customers paying by card? I'm working out how to go about it. Options are mobile card terminal, phone based and internet based. Not sure what the best approach is or even if it's worth it at all? Any thoughts?

Cheers, SW

BACS all the way. I have enough details on my invoice so that customers can pay by BACS and about 70% use this. The bonus is that there are no charges levied for receiving BACS payments

As for carrying a card based system I suspect it'll cost you money

card payment machines will incur a cost per transactions (from 50p to 2.5% depending on type of card also a monthly rental charge!! about £35)

Ay up each...

Mind you, customers paying by card is practically cash straight into you business bank account...none of that waiting around for payment stress factor. Could be worth the investment for the piece of mind.

And should be well worth considering especially now as cheques are going the way of the Dodo...! And it won't bounce just like Dodo's. Did Dodo's bounce..?!

Anyhoo...

I think Paypal offer an internet based solution don't know what it costs the only thing that is certain cheques are becoming a rarity
