I have 20 double data points so 40 cat 6 in total. What connects on the other side. A data switch?? Seen them in 24 ways so i would need 2 x 24 ways correct??

Depends on the spec. You could install them to Cat6 outlets at either end, then patch in to a switch. Alternatively you could terminate with a male end each to plug straight in to a switch. But the industry standard is to terminate to a patch panel, and then patch to the required device.

you need to ask the customer where he wants to position the rack/switch.... and judging by your other posts today you need to get better info off the client..
