Anyone else feeling like it a uphill struggle all day everyday dealing with big companies??

At lot of my work comes from one company, I’d probably say 40%. Thing is though I find it a bloody nightmare. Guy want me on site certain days and then turn up and it aint even close for me getting started..

Running around picking keys up to look at a job 40 miles away for a cooker that had been installed tested and commissioned.. Then they recon it’s not working.. Turns up and the nugget just had the isolator switched off.

His response oh well. No thanks no sweet f all…..

you have allowed this company to get the upper hand through no fault of your own.
they know they have you by the balls and will continue to take the p*ss until

A. you tell them to shove it
or
B. you bill them for every minute of your time on their jobs inc. travelling , in which case they will probably tell you to shove it and find someone else soft enough to continue doing it.

this will only go one way i'm afraid so start looking for work away from this company.

Yep keep away from the 'big' companies they just aint worth the hassle unless you have a clear agreement upfront that you will be charging them for your time as soon as you leave the house ...... but I would suggest they wont accept this so either carry-on as you are going and accept the frustration (and lack of money) or give them the big heave-ho and look elsewhere!!

The larger the company the less chance you will deal with the organ grinder, instead it will be a monkey who doesn't care about you or his boss and will mess you about because they are

useless
lazy
ignorant
incompetent

and that is true whether it is a private company, a PLC, local authority or a housing association. Had to deal with all over the years, still do on occasion, and I hate every minute of it.
