Hi everyone.
Anyone got a suggestion on a decent rechargable work light. Idealy something the size of a 2D mains lamp that is also battery powered.
Tired of head lamps and light sticks! :bucktooth:
Regards, David

I agree with vernam616, I have a range of 18V Dewalt battery tools, If you have the same I would highly reccomend the latern which is excellent. I would also recommend the Portable light which can run off Mains or the battery, the one I have got also acts as a battery charger if it is plugged into the mains.

I can endorse the views about the Dewalt area light DC020-GB it's an excellent bit of kit. If you already have some Dewalt 18V kit, the area light is now available cheaper as a "bare bones" unit without a battery.

I have the Dewalt DC020, it's a great bit of kit but does not charge the batteries when running on the mains, there is a DC022 which does charge the batteries but the unit a lot more bigger, not ideal for working under the stairs changing the CU.

i seen b&q had a 2 million candle light that you can recharge from ciggie port in car... 15 quid ???? i seen 5 million candle in lidl £30 quid .....spark i work with has bosch battery one and its bright, light,

charge them in car, and if you needed for long periods, you would try and use actual work lamps with plug top.... i might invest in a 5 million one..... of course il read what says on pack first.....

If you just want a general illumination light for everyday stuff, you can always just get a maintained fitting and stick a plug on it for about £20-25. Great for CU changes in understairs cupboards!!

Thanks, yes that the sort of thing - just looking for something a bit more robust.

i got a 25m extension reel from lidl and has 120w halogen lamp built onto front which plugs into one ofthe sockets, and people always say thats a good job. think was 27 quid and had it a while now.. got me moneys workth

I have a Nightsearcher Workbrite on order, it looks OK and Nightsearcher have a very good reputation for rechargeable floodlights. The buying point for me was LED, so I am not getting scorched and it's very bright with a good few hours use from a full charge.
