I know makita radios rule sites but it's time for me to get one all my tools are dewalt so would be handy to get the dewalt radio . Anyone got any reviews on them ?

I've had mine for a few years and it's still as good as the day I got it.

Which is more than can be said for all the other cheap radios I've had before.

It saves me from listening to my own thoughts for too long and runs off / charges my dewalt batteries.

The only thing going against it is that it resembles a ghetto blaster from the 80's.

Big and heavy but reliable :)

My mate has one of the new dab ones he says if it lasts a year it will pay for its self as he gets through loads of domestic type dabs
Its his pride and joy .Even brought it to the pub one night to give everyone the guilded tour.
Seems good when I have been with him

I've had the DAB/FM one for a few months and what I've noticed is if you plug it in to charge and then use the search function on the radio it often can't tune into any stations. Unplug and try again and it's ok - so then plug in again.

Frustrating, but that said, the 2 x 13a sockets are dead handy, as are the USB to charge my phone and the jack to plug in my iPod.

The dewalt has 2 13 amp sockets on it?

As an aside my dab radio (£40 non site job) works ok however when I charge my 18v dewalt batteries anywhere within say 12 ft of it it can't pic up any radio stations. Maybe telling me something!

Dewalt radios are pretty decent I use to have a Makita BMR but the fact it didn't charge my batteries was annoying - now (only for two weeks) I've got myself a DeWalt DAB as I got a new combi also.
Great for charging my batteries but DAB sucks in Derbyshire so its stereo most of the time.

Oh yeah one last thing don't drop a Makita BMR into water - they can't swim.
