Is there a reg anywhere that states that you have to use the same make SPD inside a consumer unit. I know there are with MCB's as they obviously have to sit on the same bus bar but an SPD just slots in and has flexible cables wiring it up.

Available to buy is not readily available. There are over 350 standards listed in appendix 1. That's easily a years salary spent on buying copies of standards, hardly viable for the average tradesperson is it?
Don't shoot the messenger.
I didn't say I agreed with the situation.
Mind, not all standards would be necessary to be held.
Some obvious ones, yes, 7430, 5839, 5266.
It could be argued that them being available to buy online and download is, readily available.
The cost is something else, but the availability is there.
They are easy to buy.
Other options could be your local public library, industry guidance on the topics etc.
I'm not saying these are practical solutions, but they could be for some people.

Unfortunately, I doubt they will ever be free, though that would be nice.

If you do want to look at obtaining standards, and they are EN, then you could look at getting the multi-user version from Estonia in English here:
They are a LOT cheaper than BSI, the standards are in English, and if they are ENs, then the Estonian version is identical to the BS EN apart from the BSI front and back pages; the "meat" of the standard is identical no matter what country it comes from if it is an EN.
The only difference is the language, so if it is in English, then every English EN published by every national standards body is identical.

It sounds like you have access to most/all of these, do you have an approximate idea of the cost to have all of the likely ones cited by BS7671?

Sorry, @pc1966 I don't know how much they would be.
I would have to sit down and work it out.
I used to have access to many standards when I was working and doing the design/consultancy/expert witness stuff, but since being diagnosed with stage 4 incurable & terminal cancer toward the end of September 2020, quickly followed by being paralysed from the belly button down at the end of November 2020 by a tumour from my cancer crushing my spinal cord, I have had to give up work pretty much, so I have lost my access to the standards.

No worries.

I am very sorry to hear that. Nothing much I can really say beyond wishing you the best care you can get.

Is this one you’ve installed? If so and you’re questioning it, why not swap it for the same brand as the DB and then you’re covered?
Thats what we intend to do, its the same old story, everything is last minute and we didn't get the spec until a couple of days before the job needed doing, they insisted on a Crabtree mains unit as all the other flats have them in them but no-one had a Crabtree SPD in stock so we had to fit what we could get hold of, I knew there was nothing wrong with doing this.

I fitted it and certified everything/part P etc but the council or housing association must send an electrician/handy man in afterwards to test everything. I managed to get hold of the proper one this morning and went to fit it today but the key wasn't in the key safe so couldn't get in so I've left it up to them what to do next, no-one seems to know where the key is.
