Dimming an Outside LED Light?

Hi guys,

I am looking at having a outside light installed over a door, the light I am looking at uses a E27 bulb fitment which I am planning to use a LED replacement.
I would like to be able to switch the light between two brightness levels using a PIR so the light is on a lower brightness level all the time only to be switched to 'full brightness' when the PIR detects movement.
What would be the best method to do this?

Buy a light fitting that offers this facility out of a box

Or 2 suitably sized and positioned lamps may be cheaper perhaps? Both on light sensor, one also in series with motion sensor.

This is very easy, any competent electrician should be able to install this for you.

Just stick a dusk till dawn led bulb into the fitting...no need for two light levels imho. Burglars don’t give a Minnie’s about flood lights as they get ignored by everyone and will go out. They hate constant light at a reasonable level though.

my floodlightscome on for 2 minutes. time enough for the scroat to find his way to the back of the house.not enough to see the 240V trip wire next to the pond.
