Do I need a disconnection device (fcu or switch) between the supply from the mcb to a Heat Recovery ventilation system?
At present there is only a multi position signal controller switch (off, timed, auto, manual etc).

That depends on rating of MCB, cable used at each point, and power consumption of ventilation system.
So not really possible to say without more info (or photos if unsure).

There should be a local isolator adjacent to the plant for emergency and servicing purposes. Typically on the ones I've worked on they've been fitted with rotary isolators on the housing somewhere.
