Hi all have been asked to put lights into display cabinets top and bottom. I was thinking about using surface cabinet light fittings but dont know what would be better Halogen or L.E.D? I need 8 fittings in total and would need to hide the transformer in l/v. Any suggestions and where to buy them would be much appreciated

I did something similar a year or 2 back. I fitted cabinet lights which were round and quite shallow, it was optional as to whether you surface mounted them or cut holes in cabinet and flush fitted them. i only did the top and flush fit them, put tranny on top behind pelmet. i got them from Ikea i think.

I dont like the halogen type as they seem to pack up for no reason , and when you get a call out to go back its a pain, you turn up take lamp out and put it back in ,, and hey presto they start working again. And ive had callouts to other peoples lights and get same problem,, New led ones are a good choice
