I admit it... I am really confused as to what the minimum distances should be between cat 5, coax and tel cable and from ac power cables in particular?!??!!?.... here so many different things I don't know nuffin.

Really would be great to sort it out... must be true for some others at least too?

Cheers again guys

:D

50mm min coax (cctv video cables ) can pick up interfearence up off the main cables but i have never seen this a

nd as for cat5 again never seen a problem in the past sum installers myself included are now using cat5 with baluns for their cctv video as you can get stable pics from over 1000m

sorry to go off the subject 50 min lol

Zero seperation if the power cables it runs with are 20amps or less ie if in dado trunking no seperation is required because the powers that be have cunningly allowed a 32amp ring to be 2 x16amp. Florecents and motor cicuits should have minimum of 50mm. It's normally the hi band width data transfers that are affected by power locations low band width usage ie security camera work is usually unaffected. Best to keep them as far apart as on site conditions allow.
Cat 5 no longer exists this type of cabling was removed from the standards some while ago it is now Cat5e or above.
