Wont work on an emergency light battery as it will have a 230V input , so Bobs not your auntie. Most Disabled toilet alarms have a small battery back-up specifically to negate the problem. So yes feed from permanent light via rcd. Dont forget to label the distribution board DTAs and IR tests dont mix.
