Well that seems pretty clear..

Are you an electrician?
Is this your own house?
Are you Qualified in the U.k or elsewhere?
Are you in business doing work for others?
Are you employed or self employed?

Are you 17th Edition,
Registered with any Schemes, Elecsa, Niceic?

Just an heads up cristian, people dont identify themselves as foreigners, they tend to say which country there from, otherwise people may just think your a messer.Regards Ap

ok,sorry...i didnt say to much about me...so im romanian,im in UK about 2 years,i been 15 years electrician in romania,im qualified now in UK,i applied to join to NICEIC,and i need to do 2 jobs done before they accept me...im self employed(only way im allowed to work in UK)i have all qualification need to start working...just few more little things i need to understanding completelly and i will e just fine...and my question was one of them...to be honest im shame on myself because im not sure about this, but is better to do that instead to do something wrong....thank you

for a CU change you will need to complete an EIC ( installation certificate. ). i tick the alteration box when i do one.

some would tick "new" as you could argue that the CU is a new install CU, but i only use "new" for a complete new installation.

yes,i understand this....if all installations are new than should be ticked new...but if the new CU serve an old installations than must tick alteration,right?...thanks

Tick what box you feel is appropriate, I always tick new as normally I have installed earths and extras that are NEW.

But as tel says alteration is fine also

You would tick the new box, if it was a new build, or if a complete re-wire was conducted
If just a CU was being changed, then you would only tick the alteration box.
If new wiring was also being installed, then you would tick both the alteration and the addition boxes.
