Hi all I have a job to do on 12th august, its changing consumer board so need main fuse dropping now after 12 years as a electrician in forces I am new to this domestic s**t I have rang them up and I ave to ring suppliers up then I ring suppliers up and get told I cant speak to them its all ****ing me right off I just want them to set a date to drop main fuse so I can complete this job to schedule. Anyone got any advice on the matter any numbers you can ring that get through to a department that will deal with it or every time you have a job that requires you to pull main fuse do you have to go through this headache?

No there are a few but the last job I did was southend they came out fine this job is in bury St Edmunds and its a nightmare, if you pull it yourself what do you do about re sealing? I have phoned my gov bod up and NIC just agree and give you no advice its pants.

yeah I know I get the jist just pull it yourself, but what happens if they come and read the meter or an engineer from suppliers has to come round and you have dropped the fuse which they harp on about being there property.

you can buy seals and sealing tools from ebay for a few pounds.

They are not 'official' but do look the part.

You are allowed to break the seals for emergency Fuseboard changes.......

Hutch, use the site search function. This subject reappears time and time again.

Are you absolutely sure there was a seal on it when you arrived? Be hard to prove and just as hard to prove you removed it. Thankfully this problem does'nt occur too often as others have said
