Hi,
Am I correct in saying I can install a single pole Type A 30ma RCBO to feed an Hypervolt EV charger? the supply cable is SWA and the Hypervolt has in built 6ma DC RCD protection. The consumer unit is a Lewden board so would ideally like to install a SP RCBO type A, any issues with this? its a TNCS system.

Thanks in advance..

Lewden / control gear DP Type A RCBOS are around £20 any branch of Rexel or Denmans have them.

No excuse not to fit one as they are so readily available.

If using SWA you should really run a cat5e for he grid ct or use ev ultra cable as the charger needs the ct clamp to enable a whole host of features, the charger comes with the grid ct for a reason.

If you do not fit it then make sure you set the ALM correctly or it will not charge when you want it to.

Without sounding Harsh, if you are asking this question it suggests you havent read the instructions/tech support on the hypervolt website!

As above. You need to run a data cable when installing a hypervolt, as they insist on a CT clamp being fitted (It is supplied). The warranty will not he valid if you don't install the CT. I like the hypervolt and the customer service is good (Thanks @Gavin for recommending them), but I will be selective in using them because of the necessity of using the CT.

can anyone buy the Hypervolt chargers or do you have to become one of their approved installers?
