That’s a fire waiting to happen, those fuel cans are sh1te and leak out the vented caps when bouncing around. Whoever thought to store them alongside the batteries with that abomination of wiring is a total genius.

Looks like a good idea to me. I'm in the middle of doing some decorating and I'm planning on putting a new socket in. If I just chisel out enough to glue the socket in then all I need to do is run a 45 deg channel to the new socket. The current one is already a spur so I'll just use 1mm cable (got a reel of black in the van) so that I don't overload it and job done. Saves on the cost of a back box and less work.
And about 50p for a back box, although probably spent about the same on gripfill!!!Saves fitting an earth jumper link from socket to backbox.
It's funny, very rare to find no box at all but I've often found dry lining and surface boxes chased into solid walls.
