Dear all,

Does anyone knows how a charging circuit designed in 800VA UPS?? I Know some what like, they will step down the 230VAC to some 15VAC and fed to mosfets. Will the charging done through drain-source diodes??? Is it so????kindly explain me how the charging happens in UPS.

Hi malcolmsanford,

Thanks for your reply.

I know the charging stages. We know that In our PC UPS the battery is charged through LM317,since there the battery is small capacity(12V,7AH). But my question is, how the charging done in high capacity UPS like 800VA or 1KVA to charge 12V,100AH with high currents???
