Hello all,
I have recently completed my Domestic Installers (DI) course at Stroud College.
Unlike the other intensive 2-3 week DI courses, this course ran for 17 weeks, it was one evening a week for 3.5 hrs. I think this is much better than the intensive 2-3 weeks as it gave me time to take in the theory and practice a great deal in my own time. I also work full time so it was ideal.
There were only 2 of us on the course (usually only 3-4) and we had 2 tutors (Gary and Tom) who were excellent. They both took pride in teaching us well above the standard required by domestic installer courses.
The cost was £1500 which I believe is cheaper than the 2-3 week courses and worth every penny.
Obviously I have no where near the experience of a 3 year apprentice electrician, but this has given me a very good start and now it is up to me to get more experience.
Thanks to both Gary and Tom, I would fully recommend this particular course.
