Hello im a DIYer in New Jersey. I ran a new circuit and it has light anda 15a receptacle that works properly then runs to a gfci that doesnt work. Then runs to an 15a receptacle in my ched which does work. Why would the gfci not have power but the outlet after it does? Thanks for your help

Sims85 first off the GFCI needs to be changed by a licensed electrician and if the receptacle you say is GFCI Protected it is either wired on the line side which it would still work so it’s not wired correctly or it is not getting its power from the GFCI receptacle.

Can you show a picture of the GFCI wiring?
