having our driveway block paved at the moment, missus just informed me that she may want remote controled swinging gates installed at a later date also some kind of outside low level lighting and maybe a outside socket!
i hate women
these guys seem fine but as in every trade you don't need a customer like my missus, we also have a broken drain that i will probably need to resolve.
these guys are still digging out a lot of concrete and obviously have a time scale.
as my missus is so fickle in everything she chooses i thought about laying 2 pvc conduit runs poking out of floor at positions around driveway and feed cable there if needed, would of liked to do it in swa and know what she wants but whatever i do she won't be happy.
what do you think of this method ok?
also to feed this i was going to feed cables through cellar through wall next to gas meter ( very close as a vent there would be easier ), can i get away with this in pvc conduit or do i have to comply with a distance threshold or go with swa or galv.
idon't want a galv answer as although i love the stuff and find it easy i have no equipment at the momment.

Always best to go with a form of duct work (or conduit), but not the thin gauge stuff, it needs to be heavy or thick walled when burying this stuff... Try and keep any bends or change of direction angles , as slow as possible on long or longish runs....

Don't forget to install with a decent pull wire of some sort, one that won't stretch or break/snap easily.. lol!!!

Hi 2 options for you:
1/ install a 50mm or 63mm twin wall electrical duct installed at correct depth under ground as in accordance of BS7671 2011. put a couple of draw cords thru and block holes to avoid them getting debris in.
or
2/ Get rid of missus!
