Not sure if this is in the right section but I'm stuck on a 2391 question.

What are the responsibilities of the duty holder in the inspection and testing process?

A - manage the workforce efficiently
B - manage associated risks safely
C - manage testing sequence effectively
D - manage calibration of equipment regularly

I've read the niceic description of this and still cant gauge a clear cut answer,

Thanks in advance
Judd

B I reckon

You want to get yourself in our trainee area on the forum. We have mentors who help you workout the answers rather than just giving them to you, which can be dangerous I guess. :)

Think it's E. make the tea and let us get on with "proper" work.

Judd... I've just grabbed a text book off the shelf... looked up "Duty Holder" in the index... leads me to Page 145 (yours may be different)... "Any person or organisation holding a legal duty under the HSW Act 1974".

Do you not have any text books ?

B. A duty holder is someone formally assessed as competent ( - by a professionally qualified and also appointed person) - and then appointed to a specific role (and sometimes location) to be responsible for implementing the required legal safety requirements and is accountable in law for doing as much. There are a number of 'disciplines' - such as electricity, pressurised systems, confined spaces, flammable substances, COSHH.......

I could go on but it is a role not to be undertaken without some experience, maturity, good judgement, common-sense, confidence and strength of character. Using an Army analogy a sergeant major whom officers and the ranks listen to! A sturdy pair of boots, commanding voice and what might be called 'strong presence' are useful aids to doing the job well.

By process of elimination it has to be 'B', since 'A' is off topic to I&T, 'C' is out of scope and likely out of knowledge of the Duty Holder and 'D' cannot apply, as the inspector's test equipment is not under the ownership or management of the Duty Holder.

'Responsibilities' would indicate plurality so it's either a multiple answer question or that answer has to be in plural form, only one that is in that form is B; Risks
