...and i'm a little apprehensive!

What are the hot questions they ask?

And on another note, can i IR a whole CU with rcd's, or would it be advisable to test separately?

Cheers.

Has your cheque cleared payment!!!

How are you going to conduct a global IR with RCD'S in circuit??

That was my question.
Reading gn3 it mentions about a global IR with rcd in circuit, but id have thought an individual test would be better

I found the elecsa assessment very easy. Just did a few tests on a CU and answered a few simple questions. Refer to your on site guide, for answers. Or the regs book.

2 Rules for Elecsa Assessments:

Rule 1 - do you have EVERYTHING on the provided check list ready and to hand?

Rule 2 - if in doubt rule 1 applies

what do you mean by "the cut-out had no fuse"? i find that hard to believe.

Can't see that installing an isolator is bad practise. I wouldn't worry. Try and relax and just treat your assessor as a normal spark. If you can have a joke along the way, both your day will be a lot easier. Good luck.

2 ways of fitting an isolater.

1. work live.

2. pull fuse and work safe.

if i were the assessor, i know what i'd want to hear.

forgot to mention option 3. spend an hour on the phone and sit on your arse waiting for DNO to attend.

Why cant you do a global IR with rcd on the board? as far as i am aware its fine that's how i was taught to do it.

no reason at all why not. you're not applying the test voltage through the RCD as it's switched off ( i hope ).
