More of a vent than a question. Reading the latest copy of professional electrician magazine earlier and seen an article from elecsa titled "one of the most common questions we get asked on the technical helpline is do i need rcd protection for...".
Now iv always known elect / nic etc standards are not very high as I know some shockingly dangerous electricians who are registered with both but it seems elect are advertising that a lot of there members are not sure when to use an rcd!!!!
You have to be a member to use the technical helpline and it begs the question how have elecsa deemed so many people competent who don't even know when they should use an rcd!!!!!
