Can anyone tell me if there is an equivalent to the C&G 2400 course? Has this now been dropped? What are the alternatives?

BillR3

Yep. C&G 2391-20 Design and Verification - just got a credit on the written (3 hour open book), now have to find the time to complete the project. Passed the 2391-10 Test and Inspect a couple of years ago which grants exemption from carrying out the practical assessment again.

Cheers Jaldred,

Got my 2391-10 also so I will look into the course thanks.

Why do they have to keep ( no swearing) about with the numbering system as it's getting to the stage no-one will know what number is what course anymore.

Joe lighting design is a slightly different kettle of fish, but if you are looking for electrical installation design then this thread is about the design course.

Most colleges and trainng centres will know the course as the City & Guilds 2400 Design course but if you read back through the thread you will find the updated number reference.

It covers a wide aspect of electrical design including some lighting calcs etc but like many of the courses you can dive into an area further and study specialist courses for example Inspection and Testing, although it is part of electrical design it also has its own specialist course C&G 2391.

For light courses you could make contact with different light associations who may give you further information on specific lighting courses.

Hope this helps & good luck!

Warren,

Could I be cheeky and ask for a copy of your notes too!!!???

I'm due to go on this course next month and I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing.

I'm trying to read a Brian Scadden book written around this course at the minute, but I'm finding it tough going.

A heads up on the course would be most appreciated!!!

Cheers:)
