Electrical drawings/schematics/diagrams

My training from september onwards does not look likely to happen now (for this year at least)

I feel very inexperienced with drawings, diagrams and general electrical control wiring schematics etc.

Is there any books that anyone can reccomend that covers these in basic and slighter greater detail?

Grab the City & Guilds 2365 books and it has a chapter about diagrams, drawings, the types and uses.

There's quite a few PDF files about for symbols, make sure they're U.K / Euro and not U.S.A
Although you'd need to understand rest of World symbols for machines sometimes.
There are many different formats of Machine drawings, sometimes specific to manufacturers, some are reasonably easy to pick up, some aren't
